MateMatch is a program to connect participants with similar interests together. With the support of our community mentors participants will build positive friendships, develop social skills, explore their local area and participate in activities they both enjoy.
How Does MateMatch Work?
Mate Match is designed to help participants meet others with similar interests, personalities, and goals in a supported and meaningful way. Through our 1:2 and 1:3 matched supports, participants can explore shared hobbies, attend activities together, and build confidence socially in a way that feels comfortable and natural.
We know how important friendship, connection, and belonging are, and how hard it can be to build those connections without the right support.
Mate Match offers more than just social outings, it’s a pathway toward greater independence, stronger community connection, and genuine friendships that can grow over time.
Our goal is to support participants to create their own meaningful relationships, with Platform To as the bridge that helps get them there.
Why Was MateMatch Started?
When we started Platform To we thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if there was an easy and safe way to connect Coasties who shared similar interests?” This was a regular theme we noticed across the people we were supporting. And so, MateMatch was born!
Meeting people and making new friends is difficult. Finding your tribe can be really challenging for many people. Friends play important roles in our lives. They can make us laugh, lift our spirits, give us advice and share experiences. Friendships help build confidence, resilience and improve overall wellbeing. Especially now with COVID, we need to combat social isolation and increase emotional support.
Whatever your passion and goals, we’ll try and find someone you’ll be able to connect with.
